Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of DV Music Lessons ("the platform"), operated by Friends of Historic Memorial Hall, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms.

What DV Music Lessons Is

DV Music Lessons is a free matchmaking service that connects music students and teachers in Wilmington and Dover, Vermont. We are not a music school, an employer, a booking platform, or a party to any lessons arrangement. We facilitate introductions — what happens after that is between you and the other person.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Students under 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these terms on their behalf. By using the platform, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

Teacher Accounts

To create a teacher profile, you must commit to offering music lessons to students in Wilmington or Dover, Vermont. This is a non-negotiable condition of listing on the platform. Profiles are reviewed and approved by an administrator before going live.

By submitting a profile, you represent that:

• The information in your profile is accurate
• You have the right to use any photos or videos you upload
• You will give lessons in the Deerfield Valley (Wilmington or Dover)
• You will not use contact information shared with you through this platform to solicit students to travel to locations outside the valley

We reserve the right to reject or remove any teacher profile at our discretion, including if we receive credible reports of misconduct or misrepresentation.

Student Accounts

Student profiles are private. Your information is used solely to match you with teachers and notify you when a match is found. Student profiles are never displayed publicly and are never shared with individual teachers.

When you are matched with a teacher, their contact information will be displayed to you. Any decision to reach out, schedule a lesson, or enter into any arrangement is entirely at your own discretion.

No Fees

DV Music Lessons is free to use for both teachers and students. We do not charge listing fees, finder's fees, commissions, or subscriptions — and we never will. Lesson rates, if any, are set entirely by the teacher and agreed upon directly between teacher and student.

No Employment Relationship

Teachers listed on DV Music Lessons are independent individuals, not employees, contractors, or agents of Friends of Historic Memorial Hall or DV Music Lessons. We do not supervise, direct, control, or take responsibility for the conduct of any teacher listed on the platform, or for any lessons provided through introductions made here.

User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Provide false, misleading, or deceptive information
• Use the platform to contact or solicit users for purposes other than music lessons
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Attempt to circumvent or undermine the platform's security or integrity
• Use the platform in any way that violates applicable law

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Uploaded Content

By uploading a photo or video to your profile, you grant DV Music Lessons a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content on the platform. You represent that you own the content or have the right to use it, and that it does not infringe any third-party rights. We reserve the right to remove content that we deem inappropriate.

Disclaimers

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that you will find a teacher or student match, that any teacher is qualified, licensed, or insured, or that the platform will be available at all times.

We do not conduct background checks on teachers. Parents and guardians are responsible for exercising their own judgment before arranging lessons for minors.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Friends of Historic Memorial Hall and DV Music Lessons shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or any lessons arranged through it. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed $0, reflecting that no fee was paid.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
